At the end of the day, it's just absurd to not disclose something as important as gender with someone you're dealing with intimately. There's no way around it. If you don't feel comfortable doing that, then you don't need to be interacting on that level. It's deceitful, flat out.

And folk transphobia shouldn't cost a trans person their life. That's all.

There is actual stigma (patriarchy) that prevent what appears to be something as trivial as professing to your partner "I'm trans" to turning around and being murdered by that same person.

Why would that happen? Why would the partner murder the trans person out of nowhere?

They have the right to make a choice about being in a relationship with a trans person and you don't have the right to take that away because you're afraid they may not want to date you

I know it does, and I read the article hoping to find something pertaining to when, or if the victim disclosed the information to the guy but no mention of it. Its important and makes a difference.

The trans gurs are subjected to violence on the daily, and your safety isnt guaranteed around someone you're romantically or platonically involved with.

Cis people are raped, abused, murdered etc by spouses, friends and family so imagine how dangerous it is for the trans gurs. They're literally walking targets, especially the black ones.

It shouldn't. At the same time,  I don't agree that possible transphobia is an excuse to deceive.
