Saying that everyone who loves B7 is a blind follower is a ridiculous statement. And if Brandy says B7 is more personal than Afro, then that's what it is. She literally wrote B7 how would the songs on Afro even be more personal? :dead:

Sorry I'm still trying to find where anyone said this? The thread is only 5 pages so don't editorialize  :dead:

I'm happy for those who like the album. I'm responding to being told to hush or that I'm not a true fan if I have issues with the new album.

B7 is fake personal. She's writing about mental illness and using it as metaphors without truly experiencing it. We all know how Bran can put on that fake sincere front, and some of the songs on this album give me that. But that's just my opinion so you can have yours and let me have mine  :)

Not 2 of the 3 white ppl on this board arguing lol

I read the blind follower claim somewhere in this thread, it was directed to whoever wrote that (too lazy to check who it was). of course we can have different opinions, I respect yours too. Don't you think maybe brandy is only now downplaying the mental health part of the album, cause she feels uncomfortable speaking about it? Cause in one interview she definitely did say that she speaks on mental health on B7.

I'm sure that's a possibility. I guess my point is if you're going to use clinical terms like Borderline, Bipolar disorder, schizo, retarded, etc. you need to go ahead and commit to it and own it. It's a copout to say all that stuff and then distance yourself from it immediately after the fact.
I get your point. she's not perfect though and I've accepted that. actually makes her more relatable in a way.

No one is asking her to be perfect. Just accountable.
is it that serious? she clearly has/ had mental issues like most people, maybe she could be so open about them in her creative process but now she cant in her interviews. I think it makes sense. Sometimes I write something that I know I'd be too scared to put out because of how controversial it would be, so I'm glad she at least put the songs out even if she cant fully stand in her mess now in interviews.

Luv she can do whatever she wants. My point is it makes the music feel inauthentic. The inconsistency may not bother you but it's something that detracts from the experience for me. Especially since that's been the whole selling point.

"Without you" on 2/11 vocally slaughters everything on b7. Trust my KEEEN hear is open, an following brandy vocally this wasn't her best. If you wanted more of a different style afrodisiac hands down was the best for that. Focus, necessary, I tried, finally, should I go we're all artistic but still gave vocals. B7 just sound like she didn't want to try to put effort. Hopefully next time around we can actually get a ALBUM!
