The judges know their stuff but it comes to preference at this point. If they're willing to overlook certain sloppy placement of Adlibs/Vibrato and things, then that's their prerogative :dead: doesn't mean we will

s

Not everything is about being in the right placement. I mean, that can be so boring, IMO. That's what makes a great performance a lot times - It's unpredictable and emotional. That feeling of being a part of something special, etc. For instance, MJB may sound like a fool to A LOT of people but a lot of others are moved by her performances because she's emoting her soul owt. I get that from Laporsha. She's a bit unpolished but that's why viewers relate with her and I think if she did clean up a bit she will go far.
i totally get where you're coming from. But that's the thing .. I still don't feel her or believe her 100% of the time while singing. She simply hasn't moved me beyond a few moments here n there

By the way, great placement SHOULD be unpredictable. That's what makes it great :dead: I don't mean she should sound like a perfect robot at all. Keep the emotion in ur voice for sure, but at some point, u gotta pull it all the way together in terms of the arrangement. It usually seems like she has all of these different ideas but never quite arrange them all for it to make sense. That's the issue. I'm definitely not asking for perfect notes every time

There are people on this forum that know a lot about music as well, and have strong opinions (clearly) so I don't see how their word is the be all end all

The judges have gone up for plenty of talent that we've never seen or heard from again lol. Candace Glover and a slew of others
!!! I mean when Randy (an actual bass player/producer) Mariah (a formerly talented singer) Nicki (a talented rapper) all were crying every night with Candace and she actually was GREAT with placement & everything AND could emote

if you're saying this about Candace; and its true..the SAME rule applies with Laporsha

Candace won because she was superior

Laporsha is just as talented; just different vocal styles
but she won and flopped
the judges were wrong, just like they can be wrong about Laporsha

So because she flopped now Candace sucks??

Dont do that
never I LOVE GHANdace
but shes not a star, shes a great singer that I love
and the same may apply to LaPorsha for you
Yea Candice was an AMAZING singer and Porsha is a good singer and can captivate an audience performance wise.  The shit she does is a lil jarring to my ear tho, so im not buying into the fanfare the judges like to give
This is my pass to say WHATEVER tf I wanna say about the mess she releases so I don't wanna hear SHIT! Baby mama is a mess of a song btw

I didn't know Candace won :dead: she seems so boring so I see why she never caught on. I think Laporsha could have a couple of R&B hits. She has a look, the afro is like her signature. Her voice is unique.

everything shouldnt be pre thought out "where should i stick this run?" "this would sound dope here!"

just LIVE in the moment and let your gift take OVER. Laporsha does that :dead:
boy

That's not what great placement is lol if you have a great EAR, you can be in the moment and do all of that without thinking. All my faves do just that lmao

Having an ear for placement doesn't make you calculated, it makes you a great fucking singer and a smart singer at that. Let's clear that up right now

u know there are singers who do that and still manage to stay in the pocket right? when u have an ear for music u make wise choices. I like Fantasia and she is a girl that does wild stuff on stage but its where it needs to be in the song. Nobody is asking the girl to be susan boyle or some shit, so extra :dead:

i just dont see how u can say those words love after a performance like this

there was nothing forced or thought out about this

she simply felt the lyrics of the song and told HER story and her soul came out SWINGING on that stage
to the point where was crying.
theres other kids AINT doing it.

How r u not moved by someone who clearly went through hell and back and started damn near praising the lord after the performance? :plzstop:

She is giving pure humanity EACH and everytime she gets on the stage  :supluv:

Like you can either have one or the other. My faves give it all lol

Laporsha is talented enough to give that one day as well.  There's a reason she's on American idol. She is NOT a professional yet :dead: period. Right now, I'm just saying she's not all there

NO one in here has denied her gift. I would never ever do that to someone I felt was talented. That's not my place to do. Ever.

We can agree to disagree. There are singers who are calculated in their approach and there are others who aren't. It's two different types and they appeal to different people. Laporsha gives me soul artists vibes. I'm not an easily moved listener. Especially when it comes to female voices but I was moved and REELED in a bit by that "Diamonds" and "No More Drama" performances. The only thing that bothered me was that she starts off way too early. That's something I noticed but other then that I think she has potential. It will be different when she's on wax so I'm sure a lot of the opinions on here will be a lot of "Wait! queen" :plzstop: Watch
