It's not just about BLACK people, hun. There are dark skin people in most races and they end up getting white-washed in entertainment. EX: They found the whitest looking-mexican girl for that role on HTGAWM.

You'd have to be blind to not see the way dark-skinned performers get the scraps in the business of art.

Like, if you were a dark skinned AA female and made that statement, I would immediately understand why. You would feel under represented. But as a man of another race completely, I didn't understand why you felt that way. So I asked.

well, you said something that dealt with dark skin people (that I agreed with) and from that, he somehow thought it meant dark skin people are the only ones who can represent real African Americans. & that's something no one has ever said or would ever even agree with

I actually like you.
So I will expand on that comment.

When I heard about Lee Daniels girl group show. I got excited, cause I live for a girl group. Let me name the ones that have slayed me. SWV, TLC, DC, Xscape. Shit, even Monkenstef slays me with their one hit wonder selves.

This was i was asking about. These are not all dark skinned girl groups.  U keep saying this dark skinned thing and i don't understand it either tbh. Black people need to be represented in all colors because we aren't just dark. Not one color needs to be slighted or exalted over the other.  Its like ur looking for a "RIGHT ON" or hand clap but im not clapping. Ur just like hazel but on the flip side
