he definitely should have called her before cutting their hair off.

hair may not mean anything to him but it could mean it to her, she has nice hair herself, i'm sure the kids do too. unless she had them walking around looking a mess, which I doubt.

i damn sure know if someone cut my childs hair off without calling I'd be digging into their ass as well. parent, babysitter, bestie, cousin....don't give a fuck, u gonna get it!

but
both of them are dead wrong for this. literally. LITERALLY putting their kids in the middle of their own mess

this really is sad tho...

she KNOWS what shes doing and the impact all of this can have on the kids; yet she's using it to manipulate the children's views of the father as well.

how spiteful, spineline, hateful, and disgusting?

it's a haircut, but we don't know how long their hair was
and what work she had been putting in to maintain it.

if they had long hair that means she had to be putting in work to keep it kept and growing.

now if they already had a close shaven caesar mess owt to begin with
she's going way overboard with the reaction and nitpicking.

i think it's because they're boys that people won't see the big deal, I suppose.
if it were girls I guarantee you this thread would be full of different replies.

I understand that but I also see a lot of replies saying "its just a haircut", as if she doesn't even have a reason to be upset to begin with. Let alone overtly dramatic. That's what I am addressing.

I've already stated that they're both kind of idiots. Him for not calling and her for telling her sons to key his car and mess.

Yea, halfway into the video, the details surrounding the haircut became irrelevant. She started to reveal her true intent for making it a big deal in the first place. The "did you hurt me?! HELLLLPPP!" part sealed it for me.

This had NOTHING to do with haircuts.

surprise!

she would gather the fuck out of them :dead:

I don't think Tia would be making some dramatic scene in front of her child or involving her family in the mess :dead:

That's what kind of has everyone repulsed by this video  :ermm:

Yea, halfway into the video, the details surrounding the haircut became irrelevant. She started to reveal her true intent for making it a big deal in the first place. The "did you hurt me?! HELLLLPPP!" part sealed it for me.

This had NOTHING to do with haircuts.
EVEN BEFORE THAT, when she said u left us and he said oh, thought I left u :dead:

it's a haircut, but we don't know how long their hair was
and what work she had been putting in to maintain it.

if they had long hair that means she had to be putting in work to keep it kept and growing.

now if they already had a close shaven caesar mess owt to begin with
she's going way overboard with the reaction and nitpicking.

i think it's because they're boys that people won't see the big deal, I suppose.
if it were girls I guarantee you this thread would be full of different replies.

well for one ; like you said: we dont know how long the hair was .
so lets not choose any sides to justify the reaction or defend it

aside from the hair altogether:

the woman is making a public scene in front of her children
is using her rights to back this man into a corner just to be spiteful about the hair
is using her own children by manipulating their minds into having the perception she has of him; that alone is completely horrible. she's completely fine with her sons growing up hating their father because their minds were tampered with into thinking he was so villainous--completely disgusting.

She is literally continuing the cycle of broken black families; and right before our eyes.

didnt really seem to be about a haircut honestly. Not ONCE did she say "u cut off all their beautiful hair" or even allude to something like that. CLEARLY she was bitter about him not fckn with her. Like she was mad about a haircut but what was the point of interrogating the other child about who his mother was, PLEASE!

!!!!!

there were no tears or rubbing of the hair. nothing about what she was doing was about the hair. she was doing everything she could to torment him; and in front of the children. when she and the mother went to that car and then tried to yell for help; thats when i knew she was totally driven by hate and spite. im sure the hair did piss her off but the way she carried on had nothing to do with the hair.

still watching the video...but by looking at her/her mom etc
her reaction could speak to cultural differences

like lil sis said, most African Americans believe in shaving the boys head and perming/straightening the girl's head. which would explain why he probably said to himself "my boys need to look 'fresh'" and cut it off

but then u have this woman who's family clearly is at the very least, highly admixed...I think they may feel a lot differently about cutting hair to be really honest. she genuinely seems upset that it was done.

If you notice, white women LOVE seeing their black kids' hair grow. Look at Heidi Klum. Her kids have kinky hair and she loves it and lets it grow, and even saved it in little baggies to hold on to whatever she cut. But then we had a BLACK woman to come behind her and say "who the fuck wants to save that mess? :uhh: " and got her ass chewed out by other black people who probably secretly think the same way but was upset someone said it and embarrassed us. if we're keeping it ALL the way 100.

Af' bby, this has nothing to do with admixture, hair texture or that other stuff :plzstop:

They all appear black and black guys like getting haircuts. It makes them feel clean, I think. Idk even my brother gets haircuts and my dad takes him. I think white women don't get their boys haircuts because they don't know how to maintain black hair. Again, this situation has nothing to do with haircuts. She just wanted to be difficult.

She was NOT genuinely upset about shit.

Im sorry.

You would NOT NOT NOT run up on a child in the backseat with 21 questions if you were mad about some hair.

You wouldn't scream rape and bloody murder if someone nudges you to get you out of said child's face.

You wouldnt use your children as orange cones.

You wouldnt call the police over some hair.

The bitterness she displayed...ch..bitch would have used anyyyyythingggg to initiate a confrontation.

I used Heidi Klum as an example. Not someone with Native ancestry.

She's a white woman, who loves her kid's kinky hair. They're not Native, or Hispanic, they're black with kinky hair and she doesn't want anyone touching it. She saves it. Some mothers take this seriously. You guys are overlooking that.

but then u have this woman who's family clearly is at the very least, highly admixed...I think they may feel a lot differently about cutting hair to be really honest. she genuinely seems upset that it was done.

Chile.

So what abut everything else we've been discussing.

Not this excuse for her.
My point is, you guys are saying this has NOTHING to do with the haircut. I just don't agree, even after watching more of this. Nothing at all? Not even in the least bit? I believe cultural differences definitely may come into play here a bit.

i think the difference is its not about WHY she's mad. its about what shes DOING in the video; and TO & in FRONT OF her kids.
WHY is really neither here nor there. Thats the issue here.

I also used Tia as an example. A black woman with a black child. Who maintains her son's hair.

Honestly I think this conversation would be totally different if it were girls who had their head shaven off by dad. It would be horrific, unthinkable, how could he. And anyone who says it wouldn't is a liar.

That's a really extreme comparison. I don't see most fathers taking their daughters to a salon and telling the stylist to give her a low cut fade just to piss mom off.

And like I said before, Tia would probably have a little more sense than to make this kind of scene in public and use her child as a damn speed bump.

If cutting the child's hair is not listed in his rights as a parent it should not have been done.
Sometimes you have to acknowledge who the fire starter was. In this case, it would be him.
If your situation with your ex is already rocky, why GIVE her a reason to get on your case?

Why not call her and talk with her about it?

Yes, she turned all the way up once the boys were there with their Caesars. But this could have been avoided. Women are catty and spiteful, it's in their nature. Sor'. So if your dumb ass gives them an excuse to rip you apart, it'll be done.

She's still dead wrong for involving her kids. Very immature. Don't think I am excusing her behavior. But he knew what he was doing as well. Especially considering the fact that he refused to let her know where they got the cut at.

And the cuts didn't even look cute. Do you see what the barber did to their heads? :uhh:

I don't understand why you're trying to turn this into a hair debate  :overit:

It's not common for girls to get their head shaved off so of course that would be valid reaction but it's common for black boys to go to barbers and get a haircut. Perhaps you should watch the whole video :uhh: She was upset because the dad didn't ask her first if they could get their haircut, not the haircut it self. The mom was upset because she didn't have control over the situation and wanted to be petty. Noticed how she kept saying "MY kids"? or how both the mom and the grandmother started to go into the car asking the other child questions? This inappropriate behavior didn't have shit to do with hair.

There's no cultural difference. They're all African Americans.

We don't know what she meant by hair cut. Hair cut could mean a simple trim, a shape up, etc. Hair cut is very general and doesn't always mean completely shaven off.

And even if she is maintaining their mess with cuts it makes me wonder even more why he would get it cut AGAIN. What was the point or logic in that?

I used Heidi Klum as an example. Not someone with Native ancestry.

She's a white woman, who loves her kid's kinky hair. They're not Native, or Hispanic, they're black with kinky hair and she doesn't want anyone touching it. She saves it. Some mothers take this seriously. You guys are overlooking that.

We're not talking about Heidi though.  :plzstop: You dont know if this woman puts their hair in baggies to keep. But we can all pretty clearly see the scorned undertone throughout the entire video. You're overlooking that. You're talking about Heidi Klum putting her adopted kids' hair in a ziploc and not Carla who is doing stunts and shows in front of her kids using a haircut as a green light to act a fool. If it wasnt the haircut it woulda been their toy trains, exceeding the allotted time for visits, the number of car seats in the car, oh wait...... she nit picked all that too

sis i love you but no.
its not that we're overlooking it; its that you arent looking past the hair/race/culture thing.
and we know maybe its because of your latest personal revelations in this area.

but whats going on in the video and whats being discussed has A LOT more to do other things than hair. and its rooted with the hate and bitterness this woman has for this man Earl. And whats scariest about the whole video is we see a 3 generation depiction coming into to form before our eyes. we see the grandmother who is obviously just as scorned and distracted by her own bitter emotions that she too was unable to keep the focus of her anger on and about the hair. and we see it happening with the baby mother. whats scariest about her is that she is also CREATING the next generational cycle right before our very own eyes. but this time to her 2 little black sons. shes dangerous. those poor little boys...smh. they will grow up in an environment where two of the most important women in their lives are okay with being driven by bitter and spiteful emotions. it gets deep..and scary.

the entire video is sad; and your points on hair are extremely valid as to WHY both women could be mad.
but again, whats going on in the video and whats being discussed isnt about why they're mad its about how they're handling that "anger" and how the children are being used and affected by it all.

If it wasnt the haircut it woulda been their toy trains, exceeding the allotted time for visits, the number of car seats in the car, oh wait...... she nit picked all that too
I already said multiple times how wrong she is.
And how immature she acted.

Why do you guys keep overlooking that?

I'm just saying that she could have genuinely been triggered.
Sometimes people act a fool when they are set off by something. Depending on their personality.

You think the haircuts triggered a genuine reaction.

I think it gave her a reason to be a bitch.

I think she's just a bitch period. Don't think it's an act anytime someone is gross enough to have their kids key up their dad's car. That's a genuine, undiluted bitch my love. And anything that triggers her will bring it right on out.

SHe's not the first woman to try to turn her kids against their fathers and be genuinely upset that he's in their lives after he did her wrong (in her mind). This definitely isn't an exclusively "black" thing either. It's more of a woman thing. But fucking mess.

:uhh:

sis for one, the grandma already acknowledged that the boys have had haircuts before. and not just once in past; it's reoccurring. "You want the bill?"

So the Tia example doesnt really work here at this point. Nor does the fact that the baby mother would be pissed about cultural impact or the loss of years work of maintaining 3b curly locks.
I dont think the court order is that he CANT cut their hair. I think he just needs permission. Thats what it looks like the baby mother was alluding to as well. So if he was wrong about anything; it was that he did not get permission from the mother.
And we also know thats part of the reason she woman was angry because she kept yelling "did you ask? did you call?"
she wanted that communication. Earl is clearly over this woman. We can see this and he verbalizes this. We also see that the woman has emotions about this because she goes into HIS car, asks a random child about WHO he is and the name of the parent of the child so she can see if she can piece some things together for herself. The grandmother even comes to help do so.

Its alot bigger than this hair stuff sis..

I think the crime doesn't warrant the "punishment" is the point
If she's mad that he cut their hair she needs to call him and cuss him out
or just pull him aside face 2 face. Putting her kids in danger over a haircut is ridiculous. What if he tried to back out and didn't see the kids back there? Fuck a haircut, even if he was wrong for doing it
the kids didn't deserve to see them interacting like that or to be told to dislike their own father. She's 100% wrong no excuse

sis i love you but no.
its not that we're overlooking it; its that you arent looking past the hair/race/culture thing.
and we know maybe its because of your latest personal revelations in this area.

but whats going on in the video and whats being discussed has A LOT more to do other things than hair. and its rooted with the hate and bitterness this woman has for this man Earl.

The thing is that I'm not oblivious to the fact that this woman is bitter, scorned, angry and catty. Why do you guys keep replying to me like I am? :dead: I never refuted that. But he's wrong for doing this.

i didnt say or think you dont agree that the woman has issues, and i agree that he should communicate with the mother; and probably shouldnt have cut the hair altogether
but i think that is such a small issue when it comes to everything we saw in the video.
and i think thats where the disagreement lies.
you seem to weigh the two issues alot differently than everyone else is all sis

Yeah, that's all it is.

And I'll be reasonable and honest and say that me being in the minority here probably does have to do with the fact that I love natural hair, know the maintenance it takes, etc. I can admit that. But if anything that just shows how differently people see things.

I don't care if it were my cousin, husband that I love dearly, bestie...bring my child back to me bald and you're getting your scalp snatched next. If I handle that, and you know I handle that, why switch up the routine? I can understand why she may have been genuinely triggered.

But I will admit my "bias".

And sometimes when you're not cool with someone it's easy to assume that they're doing things intentionally just to spite you, even when they aren't. Haven't we all had that experience, or at least witnessed it? Anything small will have you GNAWING at their wig.

luv my mess :supluv:

but i dunno, I just feel like even if for the sake of knowing the severe effects all of this can have on the two boys & how it only adds to the next cycle of broken black families; the mother should kinda pull back and maybe reevaluate her actions a lil more here. IMO  i think in this case; shes more in the wrong when looking at the bigger picture.

This is more common than you'd think unfortunately. The results of divorce/separation when kids are involved are almost always very nasty. This just happened to be caught on tape for us to see.

Unlike the murders, etc. and mess that occur out of anger when parents win custody and mess. It gets brutal as fuck.

Which is why BOTH parents should be doing everything they can to keep the peace. Which involves healthy amounts of communication. He missed the mark, she missed the mark. To me it's more about who was wronger, not who was wrong.

If it wasnt the haircut it woulda been their toy trains, exceeding the allotted time for visits, the number of car seats in the car, oh wait...... she nit picked all that too
I already said multiple times how wrong she is.
And how immature she acted.

Why do you guys keep overlooking that?

I'm just saying that she could have genuinely been triggered.
Sometimes people act a fool when they are set off by something. Depending on their personality.

I understand.

:ohwow: hey Fro!
hey bewskie :stressed:

he definitely should have called her before cutting their hair off.

hair may not mean anything to him but it could mean it to her, she has nice hair herself, i'm sure the kids do too. unless she had them walking around looking a mess, which I doubt.

i damn sure know if someone cut my childs hair off without calling I'd be digging into their ass as well. parent, babysitter, bestie, cousin....don't give a fuck, u gonna get it!

but
both of them are dead wrong for this. literally. LITERALLY putting their kids in the middle of their own mess

b

That wasn't about a haircut.

This bitch is bitter and still trying to control this man any way that she can.

And he's petty as well.

If he really wanted the mess to end he could have told her where he took them to get the haircut.

He was low key antagonizing her and she was using her kids as pawns in their game.

They're both wrong, and he learns how to communicate if he wants to avoid his car getting keyed up.

They got their hair cut at the barbershop. I know it's hard for Carla to fathom but, that's most likely where he took them, to get a haircut.

Is she gonna go get the hair and glue it back on their scalps? :uhh:

still watching the video...but by looking at her/her mom etc
her reaction could speak to cultural differences

like lil sis said, most African Americans believe in shaving the boys head and perming/straightening the girl's head. which would explain why he probably said to himself "my boys need to look 'fresh'" and cut it off

but then u have this woman who's family clearly is at the very least, highly admixed...I think they may feel a lot differently about cutting hair to be really honest. she genuinely seems upset that it was done.

I don't think there are any cultural differences.

They are in Louisiana. She gives a Creole mess, which is pretty much considered Black, or a strain of.
Her mother is clearly a light skinned Black woman.

He probably got tired of her controlling ways and her mother meddling in their mess.

But Creoles (if they are in fact Creole) do actually have their own culture...perhaps one of the most diverse , and are known for separating themselves from other Blacks...yes the social constructs that are in place say that they are simply "black", but they consider themselves to be their own little world separate from others...much like their ancestors who were Free People of Color and gave a regal "above it all" tea, and owned slaves even though they were of African descent themselves.

This is true, but it's not so much like that anymore, especially in Louisiana.
My ex-stepdad and his fam are Creole from Louisiana. We spent a lot of time down there
and for the most part Creole folks are pretty much light skinned or mixed Black folks.

There aren't many if any cultural differences because their cultures are pretty much the same.

But me talking about hair, in a thread based on a damn haircut is random and weird. :usureuok:

surprise!

she would gather the fuck out of them :dead:

I don't think Tia would be making some dramatic scene in front of her child or involving her family in the mess :dead:

That's what kind of has everyone repulsed by this video  :ermm:

Yea, halfway into the video, the details surrounding the haircut became irrelevant. She started to reveal her true intent for making it a big deal in the first place. The "did you hurt me?! HELLLLPPP!" part sealed it for me.

This had NOTHING to do with haircuts.
EVEN BEFORE THAT, when she said u left us and he said oh, thought I left u :dead:

didnt really seem to be about a haircut honestly.

I don't think there are any cultural differences.

They are in Louisiana. She gives a Creole mess, which is pretty much considered Black, or a strain of.

Her mother is clearly a light skinned Black woman.

This bitch is just being petty. He left her & got with another chick, and she can't deal.

You guys laugh and find problems with little things, but what about the fact that this thread is saying that co-parenting drama is a Black thing? And embarrassing to us? No one found issue with that? When white people are out here killing each other because dad got custody and mess....And these stories are broadcasted on television, by the way?

http://abcnews.go.com/US/story?id=90241&page=1
(http://bloximages.chicago2.vip.townnews.com/herald-review.com/content/tncms/assets/v3/editorial/f/2d/f2d4281e-5503-5f62-81a4-8c8852fd00df/f2d4281e-5503-5f62-81a4-8c8852fd00df.image.jpg)

You guys pick and choose what you find to be out of line. Apparently discussing hair in a haircut thread, and discussing Creoles when someone else wrongly assumed that someone is based off their appearance, is random and weird.

But singling Blacks out as if we're the only people with overt familial dysfunction is perfectly fine, let's chat about that, let's touch and agree on that, even though 2 of the 3 parties in this video barely look Black. But I can take a note, when anything is about hair I should just shut up and not put my two cents in. Otherwise everything I say will be challenged and contradicted. LOL.

And what's even richer is that someone who doesn't even think they look African and said Africans are ugly when they give a purebred mess owt straight off the damn boat from West Africa is in here laughing it up.

And if I am being brutally honest....what I have to say is way too important to some of you. If you don't want me to go in depth or continue on, just don't engage me. I have my opinion, it hasn't changed, but here's the good news: it doesn't affect your life. Maybe if I didn't have 12 hyenas on the back of my opinions at once I wouldn't have to fight them off with any information I have to defend my thoughts.
