And it's less about ethnic percentage and more about the history behind the group of people. Melungeon is not a race.
Just like Creole isn't a race. But it's the amazing history behind the people who were in these groups...the glitz, the glam, the power. And they were ALL of African descent. Mostly from Angola. With a unique mixture of other things.
It's like they were damn near royalty in the states.
Who the fuck would not be proud of this heritage?
People get mad at 'fas for claiming her Creole heritage but its hers. She knows it, she knows their names, she knows it not a got damn race and that she's still Black and is and will always be most accepted by Black people.
But if you know your TRUTH there's nothing wrong with celebrating it. I just think I've been super excited cuz I literally just put the pieces together
