I think some of ya'll are being a little over dramatic. I like the hair, makeup and the outfit could've been better but its not bad. I like it. Guys, it coulda been worse. She coulda gave us what she gave last yr at the Awards. Brandy has never been a fashion icon. I think some of you are wanting bran to give IABTM Era and I'm sorry but it's obvious bran isn't in that space anymore. She's found a style that she likes that's she's comfortable in. And it works for her and IMO it fits her personality. I think her performance outfit is an example of less being more. They should've scaled back a bit especially with those parachutes on the arms. But her award acceptance dress slayed EVEN with the shoe. And from what I saw on periscope, queen slayed in her own way. Bran isn't a diva. She's not a fashion icon. I don't have a problem with Bran doin the less diva, more chill look but it has to be pulled off right like Janelle Monae. There still has to be a feminine sexienss to it. I have no problem with her outfits from last night (except those balloons on her performance outfit), but i understand what some of you are saying. Her acceptance dress is nice. In fact, i feel like she was trying to give a bit of tina turner with that look. But considering her beautiful face, I would have toned down the hair to something more minimal.

This tribute is and looking at what was snap chatted in terms of the legal situation, is exactly what she needs to kick things off on a more positive note.
I also think that she needs to find her look and stick to it. her image needs to compliment her as a brand and it's hard for people to get into you when you seem confused and are always switching things up. Erykah has become known for her oversize dresses and big hats, Bey is known for her skin tight silhouette, Rihanna is known for the bag girl / tom boy image (for the most part), Katy Perry is colorful, Gaga was once over the top, Alicia is now Mother Africa. She just needs to find her lane and stick to it so people can begin to identify with her.

Yea, may have been. But it takes a really good manager to push Brandy and get her to believe and know she can do it all. Management is more than booking opportunities. I think he played a big role in getting her to accomplish all these feats. But I think after the continuous label drama, The Game being over, Zoe Moon supposedly being over, Broadway being over, there's really nothing else going on right now. Brandy may not need him right now but in the future, why not. But if anything, she might as well just re-hire Sonja and call it a day.
Brandy just needs Sonja and they need to hire a team of young professionals who are really good at what they do and know the climate of today's industry
One thing is clear, she needs to make music the focus and the music business the focus

Brandy's way of thinking when it comes to how her projects are released is dated. She needs to get with the damn program. Like I can never see Brandy announcing an EP and releasing it the following week and drop visuals for it. Honestly this is all so confusing!
If it was her doing I'de think she would've (and at other functions) leaned towards a more ethnic look, because that is her thing.
But none of the looks have been tribal inspired. They look custom made as well which leads me to believe this is the doing of a stylist. But what stylist? I want to know who to blame because this is worst than the B&P look and the SUIMR look.

When an artist does a big/important medley in a big event, and he/she doesnt include a song from the last decade..... what does that say about your work from this last decade? its not a good look.
Feels like a wrong approach/message and all. To general viewers/listeners, its like if you didnt have a good song this last decade, or nothing fresh to offer to the audience. I understand people being upset b/c it's a big platform and she looks rather foolish. The GP hasn't heard from her in forever and this is how she presents herself. So yeah, I get the disappointment, but at the end of the day it doesn't matter.
Some of the fans just need to move on from her tbh b/c I don't think she's gonna give what we are hoping for, ever. If we're lucky maybe we'll get new music from her next year but I don't think we are getting another "era" again like we so desperately want so I'm just letting go of her for my own sanity :dead:

Let's be clear: There was no resolution in terms of her contract with Chameleon until after the tour. If she made the statement, "Brandy Freed," during this performance, there is definitely a shift that can't be ignored.
Also, this is a televised performance, not some random show that will go on YouTube. It will be viewed by millions and be replayed. That's why I think she opted out of Two Eleven tracks.

I definitely don't think that's it's cause she doesn't care. I think it's just that our image of what we think Brandy should be doesn't match hers, assuming she has her own vision for herself, and that's where the disconnect seems to be.
Her preferences in fashion/style, hair/makeup, and preforming would make interesting questions for future interviews imo.
